Aberdeen International Airport wins International Safety Award

Aberdeen International Airport has won an International Safety Award with merit from the British Safety Council for the second year running in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplace healthy and safe during 2014.

The International Safety Awards is an annual scheme designed to recognise and reward good health and safety management by organisations of all sizes and sectors around the world during the previous year. Now in their 57th year, Awards seek to celebrate and promote the success of the winning organisations and their employees in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all.

To achieve the award, the airport had to demonstrate its diligence in 12 various aspects of health and safety, answering questions about its management of occupational health and safety risks. The submission was judged by independent adjudicators within the British Safety Council, a government-regulated awarding organisation, who praised the airport for its commitment to preventing injury and ill health in the workplace.

Neal Stone, acting Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said ““On behalf of the Trustees and staff of the British Safety Council we warmly congratulate Aberdeen International Airport and its employees on gaining an International Safety Award with merit for 2015. All of those working at the airport have made this award possible, which recognises their commitment to preventing injury and ill health in the workplace” Find out more about Aberdeen International Airport
