A major event planed - designed to “stimulate an innovative discussion” on the economic future of the Aberdeen City region - 25 November.
Aberdeen, Scotland – the Next Chapter will take place at Robert Gordon University on 25 November, and is sponsored by Baker Tilly, RBS and ACSEF.
The event is part of RGU’s commitment to the city region, and is aiming to support the Aberdeen City Deal by helping local, national and international leaders to come together and shape a new economic direction for the area.
Supported by its strategic partner, Baker Tilly, the university has been engaging with stakeholders from across the region and beyond. The November programme will include discussions and presentations from a specially-selected team of experts and contributors who can provide valuable perspectives on these discussions.
Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, principal of RGU, said: “A re-energised Aberdeen city region represents one of the greatest social and economic opportunities for Scotland today. Indeed, it has been said that when Aberdeen prospers, Scotland prospers.
“The Aberdeen story has long been one of enterprise and innovation, and of international reach and impact. This event is creating an opportunity for us to influence and provide direction for Aberdeen’s economic future.”
Ewan Grant, Baker Tilly’s head of corporate finance in Scotland, added: “The event is well-timed with Aberdeen currently addressing the new economic and geo-political realities of the global energy market and what it means for the future of the city-region. We’re delighted to be supporting RGU in delivering this innovative event which will provide important direction for the next steps in our economic development.”
