From early 2014, Aberdeen City Council is offering financial assistance to small and medium sized businesses, social enterprises and charities to help cover up front connection costs in accessing better broadband.
The Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme forms part of Aberdeen's participation in the UK Government's £150 million Super-Connected Cities Programme, running to March 2016.
What's the Scheme?
The Scheme is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The vouchers cover connection costs of between £100 and £3,000 and are paid to the registered supplier directly. It can cover both fixed solutions, such as ethernet or a leased line, and wireless solutions, like satellite or microwave broadband. You just pay the VAT, any amount over the value of your voucher and any ongoing subscription costs.
