Aberdeen Highland Games

The Aberdeen Highland Games are an integral part of the Grampian Games circuit and are delivered under the auspices of the Scottish Highland Games Association.

In 2010, Aberdeen's Highland Games celebrated it's 50th anniversary and in the years since the event has been continually enhanced.

The 2014 Highland Games will take place on Sunday 15th June 2014, 10.00am - 5.30pm at Hazlehead Park.  Please click on the link for a location map of Hazlehead Park Aberdeen.

Participating in Events at The Games

There are many events taking places at the Games, from Caber Tossing, to Highland Dancing, to Piping.  A comprehensive list of all the events and the entry requirements for competitors are detailed in the Competitors Programme 2014, which will be published here once available. 

(Please note - advance entries will be closed from 11am on Friday 13th June.  Entries on the day of the event will be accepted).

Ticket Prices

Entry prices on the day (cash only)

  • 10.00am - 12 noon
    Family £20 (2 Adults & up to 3 children)
    Adult £8 / Child £3 / Under 5's free
  • After 12 noon
    Family £24 (2 Adults & up to 3 children)
    Adult £9 / Child £3 / Under 5's free

 Refreshments at the Games

  • Food and drink available to purchase
  • Beer tent (over 18's only)

Trade & Charity Stalls

Trade Stalls will be selling food, gifts, arts and crafts and clothing. Local charities will also be present to update you on their work and offer you the chance to participate in their various fundraising activities.

There is free car parking at the Highland Games. In addition, the Number 11 Bus, operated by First Group, and Number X17 Bus, operated by Stagecoach, both pass near Hazlehead Park.  Please see the relevant web page for bus times.


If you are planning on staying in Aberdeen whilst the Games take place, please visit the Aberdeen City and Shire Hotel Association where you will be able to locate accommodation to meet your requirements.

Highland Games 2013

The Highland Games held in 2013 were a huge success with over 10,000 visitors attending on the day. Adults and children alike had a great day where they were able to participate in free activities such as riding Segways and trying out Zip Slides, along with great food and drink, shopping at the various stalls and taking in the great competitive events that were taking place. A full list of the results from the competitive event are available by selecting the Aberdeen Highland Games 2013 Results.
