Aberdeen Hydrogen Transport Summit

Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre: 15th-17th March 2017

Aberdeen is home to Europe’s largest hydrogen fuel cell bus fleet, with 10 buses operating on the City’s roads, supported by the UK’s largest fully integrated renewable hydrogen production and refuelling station.

As a leader in hydrogen technology development, Aberdeen is hosting a series of events during the 2017 Hydrogen Week to further support and share learning on hydrogen technologies. Local authorities, fleet operators, industry partners, businesses and policy makers are invited to discuss the future of hydrogen transport in Aberdeen and the rest of Europe.

Wednesday                15th March PM

NewBusFuel Public Launch Workshop

NewBusFuel is a study that commenced in summer 2015 and which has assessed the central technology and engineering solutions required for the refuelling of a large number of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses at a single bus depot. The study in coming years will advance into fleet development. The Public Launch Workshop will present the results of the study.

For more information about NewBusFuel please visit the project website: http://newbusfuel.eu/

NewBusFuel Networking Drinks Reception

Following on from the workshop, join us for networking drinks in the Gallery as we continue to collaborate and build on discussions from the day.

Thursday 16th March

Developing clean public transport  with hydrogen: Conference on fuel cell electric buses.

The High V.LO-City and HyTransit projects are demonstrating 20 fuel cell electric buses in 3 cities in Europe. With almost two years of operation and more than 830,000 km travelled by the buses in the projects, the daily operation of the buses is proving that fuel cell electric buses can be put in to action with the same level of efficiency and flexibility as diesel buses.

The event will present the first conclusions which can be drawn from the projects and discuss remaining challenges for large scale deployment of fuel cell electric buses in Europe.

Friday 17th March AM

ACHES Hydrogen Station Open Day

Aberdeen City Hydrogen Energy Storage. Visit Aberdeen's new 350 and 700 bar refuelling station, the second station in Aberdeen which will fuel both buses and cars. Information on how to lease hydrogen vehicles will be provided.
