Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre is gearing up to exhibit at a major travel, meetings and events exhibition in the USA this week.
IMEX America offers companies looking to do business on an international scale the chance to meet with thousands of buyers and exhibitors from both America and around the world.
The AECC will showcase Aberdeen at the exhibition, running from 13-15 October in Las Vegas, as part of the VisitScotland stand which is hosting a total of 18 Scottish partners.
It follows a number of national and international conference wins for the venue in sectors including energy, medical and science.
These include a number booked to visit the AECC in 2016, such as Junior Chamber International, European Health Psychology Conference, International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET) and Intelligent Energy. The cumulative attendance at these conferences is expected to be around 3,500, with delegates attending from across the globe.
Steven Daun, sales manager for associations at AECC, said: “At AECC, we have been working very hard over the past few years to try and bring as many international conferences to Aberdeen as possible. The most important thing for us is to showcase our beautiful region and city and show delegates what we have to offer in the North-east of Scotland.
“With the upcoming new development for AECC, I’m sure there will be plenty of interest with international clients who would love to bring their conferences to the new centre, opening in 2018.”
Louise Lonie, director of sales and marketing at AECC, added: “AECC are proud to actively go out and promote not only the venue but the whole region of the North-east and events such as IMEX America are the perfect opportunity to do this. We have a great reputation for bringing high profile events to Aberdeen and we will continue to do this at the existing centre and looking ahead to the new venue.”
