The Winter Festival continues with the Christmas Tree Switch On at the Castlegate.

Annually a 35ft spruce is kindly donated to Aberdeen by our Twin City of Stavanger in Norway.

Prior to the lighting of the tree a 30 minute service is held, led by Aberdeen's Regional Ecumenical Team involving carols, readings and prayers.

At the end of the service the Lord Provost and a representative from Stavanger will light up the beautiful spruce.
