Christmas Lights Parade

Thanks to the over 20,000 folk who came along to celebrate the Official Switch On of our Christmas Lights Switch on, which took place on Sunday 23 November.

We are getting some queries asking why the Christmas Lights are on all day.

The reason is our state of the art, energy saving I-LED system, which is up to SEVEN times more energy efficient than conventional Festive Lights!

It means that it is more cost efficient to keep them on 24/7 than switching them on and off every day. And its better for the environment!!

Some interesting facts about LED;

1. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode

2. An LED is a type of solid state light which uses a semiconductor to convert electricity into light

3. Good quality LED bulbs (like ours!) can have a useful life of up to 25,000 hours

4. The first LED was invented by Nick Holonyak Jnr in 1962

5. In 2013, over 49 MILLION LED's were installed in the US, saving in excess of $675 million in annual energy costs
